Taken for a Ride!

Friday, April 9th, 2010

In previous blogs I have tried to give good sound advice with regards to Prom reservations. I know from experience that people read but don’t necessarily put the advice into practice.

Specifically, you should watch out for limo companies in Arizona with unbelievable pricing for limos for proms. The deals may no be as good as they seem, cause you might be getting taken for a ride and left out in the cold.

Clients are calling me looking for limos and party buses for their kids proms because the companies they had booked with were saying things like, “ I don’t have that reservation on the books”, “We overbooked for that date” or they just don’t show up at all.

What is really going to be an eye opener is what does show up on prom night. Those great deals won’t look so great when the 15 year old party bus shows up practically held together with duct tape, broken or missing windows covered up with black painted plywood and smelling like garbage. It’s gonna happen, some people have called telling me they booked their bus prior to going down and looking at it (which I advised doing in my blog) and realize the mistake they have made.

I don’t say this to pour salt in the wound but to hopefully make a point to those of you still searching for a prom limo. The point being, take some advice from my previous blog don’t get taken for a ride!

Limo Shortages!

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

There is a severe Limo and Party Bus shortage in Arizona! Over the past couple of years a lot of limousine companies in Phoenix have gone out of business due to the terrible economy. The Spring is usually our crazy busy season and now it’s even more so as clients scramble to find limos and party buses for their weddings, proms, birthdays, bachelor parties and so on.

Book your event early and take some advice from my previous blogs. There is some great information on how to be sure you are getting the best deal on your limo.

Prom Limos

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Are you looking for a limo for prom or a party bus for prom?

Here are some quick tips when shopping for a prom limo or party bus

  • Check reviews of the limousine companies good reviews are good no reviews can mean either the company hasn’t been in business long or had all reviews removed to hide their bad reviews.

  • You should be calling 7-10 limousine companies for pricing then narrow your list down by reviews, reputation and rates

  • Get the address of the company then make an appointment to view their fleet, don’t expect to show up on a Fri or Sat and have a viewing those are the busiest days for limo and party bus companies in Arizona.

  • Use a credit card to secure your reservation not cash.

  • There should be a contract for the reservation with the limo company get everything in writing to avoid any confusion.

  • When you make your decision pull the trigger and make the reservation, if you don’t you may wait yourself out of a limo. Then you will be settling for a company you chose to pass on originally.

There are a lot of limo companies all over the valley not all of them provide the same level of service or quality of vehicle.

Simply put, if you were going to take out friends and family for a big celebration dinner the cheapest place to go would be McDonald’s, and order off the dollar menu.

It is a big night if you choose a limousine company for your prom based on the best price it can be a recipe for disaster. Ask around I am sure you will find some people with bad prom limo stories. Don’t be a victim, do your homework.

Arizona Wedding Limos

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Arizona is a great location for Weddings, and the peak season is upon us. From the months of March, April, May & June wedding season is in full swing.

If you are looking for a wedding limo or party bus in Arizona you need to know a couple of things.

  1. Book your party bus or limo early-availability is limited and wedding limos usually get booked months in advance.
  2. Do your homework-check online reviews about the transportation company you are considering for your Arizona wedding.
  3. Shop around-call several limousine companies in Arizona and get a median price, then follow step 2 to help make your decision.
  4. Bachelor/ette parties-ask if there are any discounts for using the same limousine or party bus company for the bachelor and bachlorette parties in Arizona as well.

Quinceanera Party Buses

Joe and I presented some of our Party Buses at a Quinceanera Show at the Las Brisas Banquet Hall at 43rd Ave. & Peoria this past Sunday. I have to say it went really well. There were hundreds of girls planning their Quinceanera and looking for photographers, dresses, salons and you guessed it Party Buses and Limos for Quinceaneras.

We wowed them with “Big City Party Bus” it was the hit of the show. We even took all the girls for a ride with that music blaring, we all had a really good time.

Platinum Rides provides transportation for more Quinceaneras than any other limo company in Phoenix. Platinum Rides is family run and operated for almost 10 years now and rated as a “TOP 10” operator as well.

A Quinceanera is a special event and we here at Platinum Rides do our very best to give her that wonderful experience she’s looking for on her big day.

Trust us with your event we are gonna do a great job for you.

Frankies Valentines

Frankies ManyValentines

I wanted to take this blog and tell you about all the special ladies in my life. I am a lucky guy because I have always had beautiful woman in my life. Their beauty is not just on the outside but they are all beautiful on the inside as well.

My two daughters, every father knows how special your daughters are. I know the are going to drive me nuts as they get older but they do have two older brothers who are trained killers to do Dads light work when the boys come a knockin!

My Mother-In-Law, I got lucky with mine I know some guys that have horror stories but I got lucky. My Mother-In-Law is a special lady and I know I don’t always give her the credit she deserves for all the helps she gives my family and I. So Mom, thank you from your favorite Son-In-Law (I am her only Son-In-Law).

Onto My mother, the woman who put up with a lot over the years but she never gave up on her oldest and best looking son. During those times when you are growing up and dealing with things and looking for some guidance my Mom always had a commonly known phrase or saying. The only problem was it always came out wrong!

For example: “The early bird gets the worm” came out “The early bird eats first?”

Or my favorite: “The squeaky wheel get the oil” came out “The squeaky oil gets the wheel?”

The funniest part is I don’t think she has said either of those the correct way, EVER.

Mom, Happy Valentines Day I love you.

Finally my wife, I mean it when I say I married up. My wife is a beautiful woman and if you know me at all I always joke about how I am my Mom’s best looking son but if you know me you know my beauty lies on the inside.

This business is difficult and she has dealt with it like a pro. I mean it when I say that I fell in love with her the first time I saw her. I actually told a friend and I quote “She will be mine oh yes she will be mine” He laughed but who’s laughin now baby!

Maria, you are my love, thank you.

Well those are my ladies and yes I know I will catch some crap for getting so sappy but hey they deserve to know how much they mean to me so in advance of all the crap I will be receiving from friends I say this sincerely: I wish you could be so lucky.

Happy Valentines Day

Hey look at that, I didn’t mention Limos or Party Buses in Phoenix one time the whole blog.

Limos: Prime Season Planning

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Planning to get a limo for an event this spring? In Arizona springtime is prime season for limo companies. With all of the weddings the spring brings there are tons of Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties that need limo service as well. Throw in every Prom sucking up every limo and limo bus in the Phoenix area that leads to availability issues for everyone else.

I want to give you some advice, if you are planning party bus or limo service during the months of March, April and May do not plan your event on a Saturday Night!

You will get limo bus and limo rates at half the price if you just plan your event for a Friday or Thursday, really anytime but Saturday Night during those months.

Another bit of advise is be very skeptical of a limo company that would rent you a limo or party bus for what may seem to be a great deal. Every year I get calls on those Saturday Nights from people that got left out in the cold by a limo company that said they had a breakdown or there was a scheduling conflict or sometimes they are very honest and tell them they got more money from another client.

In any event they have no limo and no options because every limo and party bus in the Phoenix area is sold out!

It happens more than you would think. It’s a lousy situation to be in but I always tell those people that when you called around and everybody quoted you prices that were a lot more then you found this limo guy with a great deal you should’ve known better!

If you are reading this don’t be left out in the cold. Platinum Rides is a family owned business and has been a TOP 10 operator for almost that whole time. The truth is we have a great fleet and we work with wonderful people who are all going to do a great job for you.

I Know What Youre Thinkin

Monday, February 1st, 2010

I know what you’re thinking, how the heck do you choose a limo company?

They all seem the same right?

Great question, here’s the answer:

  • Search online
  • Make some phone calls
  • Check reviews
  • If you can, go down and check out the limo or party bus you want to rent.
  • Listen carefully to the person speaking to you about the company, you should feel confident they know what they are doing
  • Make sure the company sends you confirmation of the reservation details

It’s not easy choosing the right limo or party bus company the biggest reason it’s hard is most people don’t do it a lot or have never done it. You may have been in a limo before but maybe someone else planned the event and you were just along for the ride.

We don’t take for granted that most people don’t know what to ask or how to choose. When you call Platinum Ride Limos & Party Buses we ask you questions and tell you what you should ask.

We want you to feel you have made the right choice and be confident that we are going to do a great job for you, cause we are!

Diaries of Frankie

I never planned on being a Limo Guy I just fell into it and I have been trying to get out ever since. A guy with my education, professional training should be able to find a nice cushy job somewhere right? Change the world perhaps?

For those of you who don’t know me my educational pursuits were cut short by unforeseen events (I got thrown out of college) and my true calling is in communications (gift of gab) as far as a nice cushy job, I’ll be honest I love my job.

I feel like I do change the world, my small world everyday. We have fun but we take our job very seriously because what we do is give people options. The option is to go out have fun drive home and kill someone, get arrested, the smart option is to call us.

You get to have a unique experience without the worries and carnage, flashing lights in the rear view make me nervous!

Of course I am going to say this I am plugging my company but hey, I have hundreds of clients that will tell you the experience they have with us is outstanding and worth their hard earned cash.

Give us an opportunity to show you what we can do, we’re gonna do a great job for you.

Get limos in Phoenix, Limos in Scottsdale, Limos in Arizona we service the whole valley with the newest fleet of limos in Arizona.

State of the Onion(Union)

State of the Onion I mean Union

Obama just gave his first State of the Onion I mean Union. The good news is the Onion is still there, the bad news, it still STINKS like HELL.

What the Hell do I do now?

What the Hell do I do now?

Though I think Obama is giving it the old college try we are all still waiting for a recovery we can sink our teeth into.

The past year was difficult for a limo company in Phoenix but we have been hanging in there. The trouble is I don’t know if things are getting better or we are getting busier because so many other limo companies in Phoenix have fallen by the wayside.

Either way, Platinum Rides is going strong and we are very positive about 2010 and beyond. We have plans for new vehicles that nobody has yet. I’ll keep you all in the loop but if you would like respond to this blog with some new limo ideas.

Don’t forget about the boys at Platinum Rides when planning your crazy Rock Star nights!!!
